Buying a new or used car for your Green Bay drives is an exciting step. But for your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram vehicle to serve you for years to come, it’s important to keep up with routine automotive service needs like frequent oil changes. While every vehicle differs, there is a regular maintenance schedule you should follow. Based on certain mileage and/or month intervals, there are several services we suggest you take care of to keep your vehicle at optimal performance.

Every Three Months or 3,000 Miles

At 3,000 miles or three months, perform these maintenance checks:

  • Fuel filter
  • Tire pressure, tread, and wear and tear
  • Wiper fluid, automatic transmission, power steering fluid levels
  • Air filter and engine oil
  • All interior and exterior lights
  • Exhaust, belts, and hoses

Every Six Months or 6,000 Miles

Along with the maintenance tasks listed above, do these maintenance checks every 6,000 miles or six months:

  • Windshield wipers
  • Car battery and cables
  • Polish your vehicle
  • Chassis lubrication

Every 12 Months or 12,000 Miles

Once a year, along with your regular three-month and six-month services, get these maintenance checks done:

  • Transmission fluid levels
  • Steering and suspension alignments
  • Coolant levels
  • Brake system

Every Month

Every month, it’s important to do these maintenance tasks as well:

  • Check tire pressure and tread
  • Check that all interior and exterior lights are working
  • Check if the check engine light is on
  • Thoroughly clean the interior and exterior
  • Fill windshield wash fluid if not full

Why Follow a Car Maintenance Schedule?

To ensure your vehicle performs at its best around Chilton, proper vehicle maintenance is important. Not getting routine auto service can expose you and your car to more risks and potential accidents down the road. This can mean more costly repairs or auto parts replacement. Conversely, keeping up with maintenance can help you avoid common issues like your TPMS light being on, or more serious ones, light tire blowouts or failing brakes. To keep your car, SUV, or truck in great health, and to save yourself some money, stick with your car maintenance schedule.
