Lift Your Jeep at Vande Hey Brantmeier!
When you take home a Jeep Wrangler in Appleton, you’re already taking home one of the most capable SUVs on the planet. But sometimes, that’s not enough for off-road enthusiasts in Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Are you looking to lift your Jeep for even more performance? Vande Hey Brantmeier can teach you how to lift your Jeep to increase ground clearance, performance, and fun on the trails of Green Bay!
Choosing a Jeep Lift Kit
There are numerous options when it comes to lifting your Jeep. Vande Hey Brantmeier offers a fine selection of MOPAR® parts and accessories available for Jeep SUVs, so we have several Jeep lift kits available to choose from. When choosing a Jeep lift kit, it’s important to consider your intended use, as well as your budget! Take a look at the most popular options below:
A body lift is a popular option, as it tends to be an affordable one! This method works by adding space between the body and the frame of your Jeep. They typically offer 1-3 inches of lift while retaining stock suspension and wheels! However, keep in mind that this lift is not really for enhancing your performance, and is more of a cosmetic approach.
Coil Spring Spacers
A coil spring spacer lift is pretty self-explanatory! A spacer is placed on top of your coil springs to add ~1.5-2 inches of lift. You won’t need very many suspension modifications, and you keep factory ride quality. However, much like with a body lift, this modification is mostly cosmetic. While you can fit larger tires, the lift itself won’t really help with anything other than ground clearance.
Offering increased articulation and upgraded suspension, coil lifts are the first step in building a more capable off-road suspension. Extended coil springs account for 1.5-2 inches of lift. While that doesn’t seem like much, it’s more about the upgraded suspension components that improves capability.
Short Arm Lift Kit
Offering 2-6 inches of lift, a short arm lift kit is a popular way to lift your Jeep! A short arm lift kit is a coil lift kit that also includes longer control arms, larger sway bar links, and beefier shocks. Not only is ground clearance increased, but also total suspension travel. This allows you to tackle much larger obstacles, and fully reworks your suspension.
Long Arm Lift Kit
The most advanced and complex way to lift your Jeep, a long arm lift kit features especially long control arms and different mounting points in order to provide maximum approach and departure angles. Long arm lifts provide extreme articulation and crawling capability, but do have some drawbacks. Custom fabrication, expensive parts, and impractical daily use mean that only the most dedicated off-roaders will choose a long arm lift kit.
